About Melissa
Melissa G. Moore was raised Melissa Jesperson, daughter of Keith Jesperson. Growing up in Yakima, Washington, and then Spokane, she survived her parents’ traumatic divorce, the subsequent separation of living with one parent at a time, and the escalating abuse in her home, only to discover, as a very young teen, the horrible truth about the man she called her father. Melissa’s memoir, Shattered Silence: The Untold Story of a Serial Killer’s Daughter is her honest reflection of growing up with a sociopath as a father who became known as the ‘Happy Face Killer’, and having to relearn what ‘normal’ was through observation of friends, outside family members, and peers.
Melissa’s intuition and courage forged a drive within her to create a new way of life—one full of contribution and meaning. As an author and international speaker, she shares a dynamic message of the unlimited power of choice. Melissa is an advocate for the protection of victims of violence and the safety of children. Her passions involve raising a healthy, beautiful family, and developing resources for the emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of other children and families as well. Hers is a message of hope, healing, and empowerment.
